Obituary for Nancy Lee Hubrig Fairbanks--

Nancy Lee Hubrig Fairbanks, 61, of Waterloo, died at home Friday, March 24, of natural causes.

She was born January 9, 1956, in Moorhead, Minnesota, daughter of Leonard and Margaret Esser Hubrig. She married Craig Fairbanks in Waterloo in 1974, they later divorced.

She worked as a secretary at the University of Northern Iowa’s School of Business.

Survivors include a son, Brock Fairbanks (Trina Hootman) of Vinton, Iowa; a daughter, Laura (Peter) Kockelkorn the Netherlands; her mother, Margaret of Waterloo; three brothers: Dennis and Scott Hubrig, both of Waterloo, and Steve Hubrig of Laredo, Texas; a sister, Jayne (Dennis) Slaughter of Waterloo; seven grandchildren: Sebastian and Zoë Kockelkorn, Brittney, Jessica, Christian, Caitlynn, and Cory Fairbanks; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and by a sister-in-law, Pam Hubrig.

Public visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Saturday April 1 at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway. An hour of remembrance will take place at 2:00 p.m.
