Obituary for Mary Jean Alexander

Cedar Falls, Iowa – Mary Jean Alexander, 58 of Cedar Falls, died Monday, April 24 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa.

She was born May 16, 1958 in Lexington, Mississippi, the daughter of Aaron and Earnestine Tate Walton. She married Darrell Alexander on December 30, 1978, in Waterloo, Iowa.

She graduated from Waterloo West High School and was employed with Nestle Corporation in Waverly for 26 years.

Survivors include her husband; four brothers: Arthur Porter of San Diego, Calif., Bobby (Irma) Porter and Clarence Porter of Waterloo and Ricky (Tracy) Porter of Milwaukee, Wis.; three sisters: Dorothy Porter of Waterloo, Thelma Johnson of Minneapolis, Minn. and Betty Roberson of Milwaukee, Wis.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 28 at Community Southern Baptist Church with burial in Garden of Memories. Public visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. at the church.
