Obituary for Mary V. McMahon

Mary Virginia McMahon 92, of Iowa City, died [Monday] June 5, 2017, at her home. She was born August 2, 1924 in Stacyville, Iowa, the daughter of Clyde and Angela Wolf Hickey. She married Paul McMahon February 25, 1943 in Waterloo. He died in 1996.

Mary was a homemaker.

Survivors include three sons: Steven (Susan) of Waterloo, Bradley (Sandra) of Jefferson City, MO, and Paul (Denise) of Waterloo; three daughters: Margery Jensen of Iowa City, Kathleen (Arden) Miller of Bettendorf, and Julie Perkins of Waterloo; a sister, Viola Nolan; 22 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by and infant son, John; a daughter, Patty McNamara; and a brother, Donald Hickey.

Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday [June 10] at St. Edward’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Raymond. Public visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday at the Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on Ridgeway and for an hour before services at the church.

Memorial may be directed to the family.
