Anthony Thomas “Tony” Dinnebier was born July 5, 1922 in Grundy Center, Iowa: the son of Joseph and Ottilie (Helmick) Dinnebier. He was united in marriage to Rita Hoffman at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waterloo, Iowa.

Tony was a truck driver for Western Transportation Company, retiring after 32 years. After his retirement, Tony drove bus for the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School, while Rita helped him take care of the kids. He enjoyed gardening, taking care of his yard, playing cards and in earlier years, throwing horse shoes. He was also a Cubs fan. Tony and Rita were snow birds in Arizona, California Texas and Florida.

Tony passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Pinnacle Specialty Care at the age of 94.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Kathleen Ambrosy; five brothers: Joseph, Wensel, Edward, William and Carl; and a sister, Alvina Ellison.

Tony is survived by his wife Rita of Cedar Falls; by two sons, Ron (Bev) Dinnebier of Raymond and Mark (Dorlene) Dinnebier of Waterloo; by two daughters, Debra Dinnebier of Waterloo and Karen (Barry) Barryhill of Indianapolis, Indiana; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and by a sister, Mary Freeland of Waterloo.
