Belinda K. Graves was born on February 1, 1948, in Waterloo, the daughter of Robert and Ella (Carr) Johnson. Belinda grew up in Waterloo and graduated from West High School. She then received an Associate’s Degree from Hawkeye Community College.

On October 20, 1967, Belinda was united in marriage to Gerald Graves. The couple made their home in Waterloo. Belinda taught preschool at Tri County Headstart for many years. Gerald died in 1996. In 2001, Belinda met DeLane Harper through her son-in-law, and had an instant connection. The couple spent fifteen wonderful years together. Belinda enjoyed sewing, going to garage sales, snowmen, shopping, traveling, and every minute she had with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Belinda died at the age of 68, on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at Unity Point Allen Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald; her significant other, DeLane Harper; two brothers-in-law, Jack Crowe and Gene Perry; a sister-in-law, Pauline Dailey; and a daughter-in-law, Heidi Harper.

Belinda is survived by a son, Chris (April) Graves of Rochester, MN; three daughters, Julie (Adam) Hughes of Hawkeye, Lorie (Matt) Lange of Holmen, WI, and Ann (Andy) Henning of Fredericksburg; DeLane’s children, Steve Harper of Sheffield, Scott (Sandy) Harper of Plainfield, Matt (Cindy) Harper of Nashua, and Lori (James) Mennenga of Horton; a brother, Hank Dailey of Mt. Vernon, WA; three sisters, Pat Crowe of Muscatine, Geneva Perry of West Union, and Bobbie (Mike) Butler of Waterloo; eleven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
