Alice L. Baker was born April 6, 1945 in Marion, Iowa: the daughter of Carl and Leora (Wallace) Kriegermeier. She lived in Marion until attending the University of Northern Iowa, where she received her Masters in Education.

She was united in marriage to Darrel Baker on June 5, 1976 in Marion. She taught school with the Waterloo School District, then worked at Edward Jones. Alice was very active at Central Christian Church in Waterloo. She was a Church Elder, involved in the choir, bells, craft group and the church bazaar. Alice loved being around family and loved all people, in general, she was a very positive person. She enjoyed traveling, flowers, sewing and riding her bicycle.

Alice passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home at the age of 71 from multiple myeloma. She is preceded in death by her parents. Alice is survived by her husband Darrel of Waterloo; two daughters: Deborah (Christopher) Brackin of Waterloo and Susan (Jose) Miranda of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; a son Damon (Linnea) Baker of Elgin, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and three sisters: Sue (Tom) Davis of Kentucky, Jean (Greg) Thompson of Iowa and Marie Lands of Oklahoma.

Alice will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorials may be directed to Central Christian Church in Waterloo and the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.
