Services:
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church; 1021 Poplar Street, La Porte City, Iowa.

Visitation:
Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Porte City with a 4 p.m. Rosary Service. Visitation will also be held one hour before the service at the church.

Cemetery:
West View Cemetery, La Porte City; Graveside Military Rites will be conducted by the La Porte City American Legion U.S.S. San Diego Post #207.

Memorials:
may be directed to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or the La Porte City Fire and Rescue.

Biography--

Clemens L. “Clem” “Junior” Reiter, Jr., 88, of La Porte City, Iowa, died Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at UnityPoint Health Allen Hospital, in Waterloo, Iowa, of natural causes.

He was born June 22, 1928, in Eagle Center the son of Clemens L. and Rose E. (Frost) Reiter Sr. He was a 1946 graduate of Eagle Center High School. He married Edith M. Foulk on November 7, 1950, in Waterloo; she preceded him in death on June 7, 2008.

He served in the U.S. Army. Clem farmed for many years in Eagle Center and surrounding areas; drove truck for Warren Transport and Brown’s Transfer; worked at John Deere for 24 years, retiring in 1989 and worked many years with Spence’s until 2015. He served many years on the La Porte City Fire Department and was a member of the La Porte City American Legion Post #207.

He is survived by two sons, David Reiter of Cedar Rapids, Larry (Georgia) Reiter of La Porte City; four daughters: Vicky Baum of Lakeville, MN, Deborah (Mike Veach) Stern, Lori (Jim) Clark, and Tina (Lynn) Hanna all of La Porte City; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; three brothers: Richard (Joann), Kenneth (Donna), Terry (Diane) Reiter, all of Waterloo; one sister, Kathleen Zmolek of Waterloo; one son-in-law, Marc Lattin of Cedar Falls; one sister-in-law, Marlene Reiter; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one daughter, Barbara Lattin; three sons-in law, Ronald Baum and Steven Stern; Rex Callaway; one brother, Robert Reiter; one sister-in-law, Virginia Foulk; two brothers-in-law, Leonard Zmolek and Robert Foulk and two nephews, Randy Reiter and Kevin Zmolek.
