Biography--

Dorothy M. Petersen, age 95, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at NorthCrest Specialty Care in Waterloo.

She was born January 15, 1921 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Amanda (Plaster) Frahm. Dorothy was united in marriage with George T. Petersen on February 22, 1951 in Independence, Iowa. He preceded her in death on August 25, 2000.

Dorothy worked for Rath Packing Company in the cafeteria and later in the cut and trim department for 31 years. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, crocheting and an occasional visit to the local casino. Dorothy enjoyed going to church and living life.

Survivors include three daughters, Sandra (Don) Hayes and Colleen (Gary) LaPole, all of Dunkerton, Iowa, and Lorene McEnroe of Georgia; a son, Ralph (LuAnn) Murphy of Waterloo; ten grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Grace Massina of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Alfred Frahm; and a sister, Darlene Vogt.
