Biography--

Gerald Lee “Jerry” Albright, 80, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Saturday, October 8, 2016, at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community in Waverly, Iowa, from complications of leukemia.

He was born January 14, 1936, in Waverly the son of Harold W. and Corrinne M. (Kennedy) Albright. Jerry was a 1954 graduate of Waterloo West High School and served in the Iowa National Guard from 1954-1960. He married Patricia Jean Hummel on July 25, 1959 in Waterloo. She preceded him in death on September 6, 2015.

Jerry worked as a Draftsman for John Deere Co. for 31 years, retiring on May 31, 1985. Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, gardening and spending time with his family.

He is survived by five sons: Randy (Laurie) of Janesville, Steve (Cindy) of Sully, Joe (Kim) of Oskaloosa, Mark (Beth) of Ankeny, Kurt of Cedar Falls; ten grandchildren: Dan, Mike, Austin, Haley, Caden, Tristan and Ben Albright, Doug (Melinda) and Eric Slings and Mindy Hornick; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Jayson Slings; two brothers, Jack and Dave Albright both of Waterloo and one sister, Janice (Richard) Cole of Bradenton, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
