La Vern D. Moyer, 83, of Waterloo, Iowa, died at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital on Sunday, October 9, 2016.
He was born on February 12, 1933 in Iowa City; son of Emerson and Viola (Lundeblade) Moyer.
He married Connie Jean Wade on January 25, 1985 in Cedar Falls. La Vern attended Waterloo West High School.
He worked as a Horticulturist for Frinks Green House for 30 years, before retiring in 1995.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Moyer of Waterloo; one son, Timothy (Melissa) Moyer of Waterloo; five daughters: Rhonda (Lenard) Campbell of La Crosse, IN, Kathy Beecher of Wanatah, IN, Teresa Zimmerman and Angie Riechert both of California, and Tammy (Jake) Shattuck of Waterloo; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a brother, Marvin Moyer of Omaha, NE; and a sister, Marjorie Eaton of Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Steven Craig; a daughter, Tina Marie in infancy; and by a brother, Merle Moyer.
