Biography--

Jerome A. “Jerry” Kaleas, 65, of Denver, Iowa, and formerly of Waterloo, Iowa, died Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at UnityPoint Allen Hospital following a battle with cancer.

He was born June 24, 1951 in Shakopee, Minnesota, the son of Clinton and Mary Jane (Kochlin) Wolff.

He married Peggy Erdmann on September 4, 1982, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Denver.

Jerry worked as a CNC Machinist for John Deere Co. retiring after 30 years. He was a member of the UAW Local 838 and, Mended Hearts. Jerry was also a Cardiac Rehab volunteer for eight years at UnityPoint Health– Allen Hospital. After giving up his motorcycle, he enjoyed riding horses and bicycling.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy of Denver; one son, Justin Kaleas of Des Moines and one sister, Karla Thompson of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Henry Kaleas; and by a son, Jarrod Kaleas.
