Gordon Albert Kressin, 85, of Evansdale, died Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at home.
He was born in Wahpeton, North Dakota, the son of John L. and Olivia (Meyers) Kressin.
Gordon married Helen Keeth in 1963 in Norfolk, Nebraska. They were later divorced.
He was a labor foreman for Cardinal, Jens Olsen & Sons, and O'Neil Construction companies before retiring in 1990. Gordon served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from Dec. 1952-June 1956.
He was a lifetime member of the Evansdale AMVETS Post #31.
Gordon is survived by a son, Robert (Marilyn) Kressin of Woden, Iowa; a daughter, Lisa (Roger) Yeager of Evansdale; three stepdaughters: Debbie Zeien of Waterloo, Darlene (Guy) Chamberlin of Waterloo, and Joanne (Don) Kolar of Independence; two grandchildren, Brady Yeager and Olivia Yeager; six great-grandchildren; a brother, John (Mary) Kressin of Waterloo; three stepsisters: Carol Petersen of St. Paul, MN, Betty Weber of St. Paul, MN; and Sandra Kressin of San Francisco, CA; a half-brother, Donald Kressin of New Mexico; and his dog Cody — Gordon took Cody for a drive everyday around Evansdale. Everyone knew Cody. He was Gordon’s best friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Brock Yeager; and two brothers, Paul and Gerald Kressin.
