OBITUARY: DEMOCRAT, WAVERLY, IOWA MAY 15 1997...MARY ELEANOR WIDEMAN....
Mary Wideman, 74, of Denver, Missouri, died Saturday morning, May 10, at her home.
She was born June 5, 1922 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Hans and Eleanor Nichols Rudebeck. She attended school in Cedar Falls and in 1938 moved with her parents to a farm north of Waverly.
On April 23, 1944, she married Richard Wideman in Waverly, Iowa. They farmed near Waverly and Janesville before moving to a farm near Denver, Missouri in March of 1963.
During World War II she worked for the poultry packing plant and Ruggle's Grocery Store in Waverly. After moving to Missouri she worked for a short time at the Lambert Manufacturing Company in Bethany, Missouri.
Mary was a member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union and the Wesleyan Methodist Church, Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Survivors include five sons, Alan of Stanberry, MO, Kevin of Russellville, MO, Joel of Bethany, MO, Michael of Denver, MO, and Leyton of Ravenwood, MO; two daughters Lisa Showers of Buffalo, MO, and Lori Shuck of Denver, MO; a brother, Dallas Rudebeck of Humbird, Wis; and two sisters, Marjorie Mishler of Waverly and Lila Wildeboer of New Hartford; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; a brother, Melvin Rudebeck; her parents; and seven stillborn children, and a daughter-in-law, Twila Wideman.
Graveside services were held on Monday, May 12, at Grandview Cemetery, Albany, MO.
