Biography--

Christine N. Begley, 88, of Dike, formerly of Waterloo, died Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Reinbeck. She was born February 3, 1929 in Lynch, Kentucky the daughter of Thomas and Chessie (Patterson) Buchanan. She married Emery Begley on August 27, 1947 in Macon, Georgia; he preceded her in death on October 18, 1979.

Christine was a homemaker. She loved to crochet and spend time with her family.

She is survived by three daughters: Connie (Jeff) Hoffman of Sioux Falls, SD, Sharon (Rex) Fox of Dike; Bobbie (Steven) McBride of Waterloo; four sons: Kenny (Sue) Begley of Waterloo, Joe (Kathleen) Begley of Evansdale, Jeff (Kathy) Begley of Reinbeck, Scott (Kris) Begley of Waterloo; one daughter-in-law, Cheryl Begley of Charles City; 18 grandchildren: Holly Sayles, Tonya Begley, Heiddi Strom, Matthew Begley, Toby Hall, Dr. Larissa Begley, Zac Barclay, Lindsey Allen, Jessaca Phillips, Jennaca Fox, Syilehst Fox, Adam Begley, Austin Begley, Dana Begley, Kayla Begley, Kyle McBride, Tyler McBride, Travis McBride; 28 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Flora Lee Mynatt of Strawberry Plains, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Eddie Begley; one granddaughter, Tina Kisner; three sisters: Pauline Raleigh, Ruth Wilson and Anita Raleigh and by two brothers, James Thomas and Lonnie Buchanan.
