Biography--

Ethelyn F. Buck, age 89, of Waterloo, died at Martin Center of Western Home Communities in Cedar Falls on Wednesday, April 5, 2017.

She was born August 8, 1927 in Dubuque; the daughter of Fred and Estelle (Schueller) Clute. Ethelyn graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1946.

She married Loren G. Buck on June 22, 1946 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waterloo; he preceded her in death on July 26, 2007. Ethelyn was a homemaker and had worked as a supervisor at K-Mart for 11 years. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Waterloo.

Ethelyn is survived by two sons, Gary Buck of Denver, Iowa and David (Kay) Buck of Waterloo; a daughter, Lori (Don) Colvin of Waterloo; nine grandchildren: Douglas (Moira) Buck, Matthew (Kim) Buck, Jason Buck, Emily (Lucas) Sheerer, Chad Buck, Jeremiah Amo, Kelly Buck, Jacquie (Drew) Persson, Jessica Colvin; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Hackenmiller of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Marjorie Clute; and a daughter-in-law, Peggy Buck.
