Monday, April 17 at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel; and also one hour before the service at the church.

Cemetery:
Graveside Inurnment will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery; with military rites conducted by the Becker-Chapman American Legion Post #138, V.F.W. Post 1623 and the Navy Funeral Honors Detail

Biography--

Robert James Ruemmele, 86, of Waterloo, died Thursday, April 13, 2017 at NorthCrest Specialty Care, of natural causes.

He was born April 16, 1930 in Sioux City the son of Ray and Loretta (Brunkan) Ruemmele. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in Elkader and attended one year of Business School. He married Genevieve C. (Blake) Lund on May 30, 1965 in Waterloo. She preceded him in death on June 16, 2010.

Robert served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.

He worked in sales for Sears Roebuck and Co. for 32 years, retiring in 1992. Robert enjoyed fishing, target shooting, hunting, playing pool, woodworking and doing magic tricks.

Robert is survived by one step daughter, J. Patrice (Craig) Engstrom of Waterloo; one step daughter-in-law, Sue Lund of Waterloo; four step grandchildren: Jeff (Karla) Engstrom, Brett (Tina) Engstrom, Jim (Angie) Lund, Jennifer (Jesse) Rybicki Lund; one step granddaughter-in-law, Sheri Lund; nine step great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one step son, Jon J. Lund; one step grandson, Jon N. Lund; one sister, Avis Ryan and one brother, Harold Ruemmele.
