Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 650 Stephan Avenue in Waterloo

Visitation:
Tuesday at the Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel where there will be a 4:00 p.m. Rosary and a 7:00 p.m. Parish Scripture Service; and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the Church

Biography--

Rebecca A. “Becky” Urban, age 66, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born October 22, 1950 in Waterloo, the daughter of Jack and Marjorie (Polley) Bickel. Becky graduated from Waterloo East High School with the Class of 1968. She was united in marriage with Joseph D. Urban on November 27, 1971 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waterloo.

Becky and her husband Joe owned and operated Urban Heating and Air Conditioning in Cedar Falls for many years. She retired in 2012. Becky was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, the Church bible study group, and she served as the recording secretary for the St. Vincent De Paul Society for four years.

Becky loved to attend her grandchildren’s sporting events and enjoyed watching NASCAR, crafting and knitting. She was very fond of her puppies, Rocky and Smokey.

Survivors include her husband, Joe of Waterloo; two daughters, Brenda (Darren) Jones and Sarah (Brandon) Powers, all of Evansdale; a son, Mark (Tiffany McNabb) Urban of Traer; eight grandchildren; two step grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; her father, Jack (Veronica) Bickel of Cedar Falls and a sister, Sandra “Sam” (Ronald) Hansen of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her mother in 1994.
