Biography--

Charles Earl “Charlie Brown” Halligan, 56, of Waterloo, Iowa, died April 16, 2017 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born April 21, 1960 in Waterloo, the son of Leo Charles and Betty (Hardee) Halligan. He was a 1979 graduate of Hudson High School. Charles married Connie Sue Mehmen in Waterloo; they were later divorced.

Charles was a millwright for many years with Local 2158, retiring in 2015. Charlie’s hobby in life was his loyalty and dedication to his family and friends.

Charlie is survived by his mother, Betty Halligan of Hudson; one daughter, Angel (Chad) Halligan-Boswell of Evansdale; one son, Beau (Breanna Anderson) Brunson of Waterloo; five grandsons: Keagan, Kyson, Bryson, Corbin and Brantley; six sisters: Debra (Dallas) Ehmen of Waterloo, Rhonda (Jeff) Simpson of Hatfield, Missouri, Brenda (John Miller) Fuller of Waterloo, Linda Halligan, Lisa Glanert and Lila Halligan all of Waterloo and many Hardee and Halligan aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father and brother-in-law, Skip Glanert.
