Biography--

Gary. R. “Bigfoot” Sherwood, 76, of Waterloo, died April 15, 2017 at his home.

Gary was born January 26, 1941 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Carl and Alice (Jacobson) Sherwood. He married JoAnn (Schulmeister) White on January 26, 2002 in Waterloo.

Gary worked in construction for All Iowa Contracting and he later retired from Aspro, Inc.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn of Waterloo; two daughters, Alison White and Laurie Albertson, both of Waterloo; three sons: Robert Kelly (Tamara) Dyer and Randy Dyer, both of Waterloo, and Jeff (Joanie) Sherwood; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three brothers: Bill (Darlene) Sherwood of La Porte City, Tim (Linda) Sherwood and Steve Sherwood, both of Waterloo; and two sisters, Sally Hermanson and Vicki Sherwood, both of Waterloo.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Chris Sherwood; three brothers: Bob, Vince, and Jim Sherwood; and one sister, Mary Jebe.
