Obituary for Rosemary Elma Troxel

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Rosemary Elma Troxel, 91, of Friendship Village in Waterloo, died Saturday, June 25, 2016.

She was born August 22, 1924, in Iowa Falls, Iowa, the daughter of George and Marjorie (Lewis) Wolfe.
She married Rev. James R. Troxel August 10, 1948, in Iowa Falls. He died June 24, 2011. She graduated from Iowa Falls High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Wheaton College in 1948. Rosemary was a substitute teacher in the communities where her husband was pastor.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald (Jacki) of Plymouth, MN and Mark of Eden Prairie, MN; daughter, Cheryl Kottke of Eagan, MN; five grandchildren, James (Anna), Benjamin, and Bryan (Tyler) Troxel and Rebecca and Rachael Kottke.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Arlene and Georgina and grandson, Brandon.

Services will be Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Prairie Lakes Church in Cedar Falls, with interment prior to the services at Union Cemetery in Iowa Falls. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Richardson Funeral Service in Cedar Falls.

Rosemary was extremely dedicated to her husband and family. She loved her Savior and Lord and it is comforting to know that she and Jim are together. The family extends their gratitude to many nurses at Friendship Village.
