Jessie Nora (Loy) Richter

April 29, 1923 - December 24, 2016

Jessie Nora (Loy) Richter, 93, passed away early Christmas Eve day at the Pinnacle Specialty Care facility in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

She was born April 29, 1923, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of Jesse H. and Nora Murphy Loy. She married Kenneth E. Richter on June 14, 1942, in Waterloo, Iowa. He died November 19, 1995. She was later married briefly to Harold Knight.

Mrs. Richter was employed by the Cedar Falls Holiday Inn and Montgomery Wards.

Survivors include three sons, Kenneth (Jan) of Oklahoma, Doug (Renell) Richter of Cedar Falls and Scott Richter, also of Cedar Falls; one daughter, Jan (Mark) Stenson of Marshalltown, IA; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. One brother and one sister remain from the 13 children born to Jesse and Nora: Dolly Papesh of Galena, IL and Lloyd (Ursula) Loy of Alexandria, VA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny; five sisters: Edith Briden, Margorie Hilton, Viola Heinen, Bertha Melick, Barbara (Anne) Fowler; and five brothers: Floyd "Ted", George "Milt", Ralph "Short", Frank and Kenneth.

Graveside services at scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2017 at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo.
