Richard “Dick” Erickson (1931-2017)

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – Richard “Dick” Erickson, 85, of Cedar Falls died Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Sartori Memorial Hospital, Cedar Falls.

He was born April 18, 1931, in West Union, Iowa, son of Arthur and Agnes (Hansen) Erickson. He married Carol J. Rogelstad on October 11, 1958 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She died May 24, 2003.

He graduated from West Union High School and served in the US Marines. He was employed in delivery with Alstadt and Langlas Baking Company.

Survived by: a son, Rick (Cindy) Erickson of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Justin (Molly) Erickson and Drew Erickson; and two sisters, Kathryn (Willie) Weidemann and Dolly (Daryl) Bachtell, both of West Union.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Adrian Erickson.

Services: 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 3rd at Richardson Funeral Service with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Military Honors will be conducted by the Cedar Falls AMVETS Post #49. Visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, and also for one hour prior to the service Monday.

Memorials may be directed to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Marion, NewAldaya Lifescapes, or charity of donor’s choice.
