Biography--

Henrietta A. Gress, 88, of the Western Home Community, died at the Martin Health Center of Western Home Communities, Saturday, May 28, 2016.

Henrietta was born August 4, 1927, in Cresco, Iowa, the daughter of Lewis and Henrietta (Cerny) Zikuda. She grew up in Cresco and graduated from Assumption High School.

Henrietta married Clifford L. Gress, July 21, 1952 in Chicago, IL; he died June 11, 1996. She worked as a cashier for HyVee Grocery on Byron Avenue in Waterloo for 34 years. She was a member of Waterloo First United Methodist Church and was active in United Methodist Women.

Survivors include: daughter Pamela K. (Richard) Ulffers of Waterloo; daughter Marilyn L. Buckley of Decatur, IL; four grandchildren: Richard (Cynthia) Ulffers, Allison and Jackson Brunning, and Mitchell Buckley; three great‑grandchildren: Stella Ulffers and Madyson and Emalee Brunning; sister, Pauline McKee of Antioch, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: her parents, two brothers, Jerry and Bill Zikuda, and four sisters: Georgine Roe, Caroline Cameron, Mary Robison and Patricia McKinstry.
