Graveside Services: Friday, June 17, 2016 at the Waterloo Cemetery, 1830 Kimball Ave., with military rites by Waterloo American Legion Post #138, V.F.W. Post #1623 and the U.S. Navy Honor Guard

Biography--

Donald Edward Arnold, 87, of Mallard Point, Cedar Falls, died at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City on Friday, June 3, 2016 from complications of chronic kidney disease.

He was born August 31, 1928, in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Edward and Helen Chancy Arnold. Don graduated from Tama High School and was on high school football team. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.

He married Joan Ruth Wolfe and they later divorced. Don worked 32 years for John Deere as a machinist in Department 58, retiring in 1987 and was a member of UAW 838.

Don is survived by his son, Stephen of Waterloo; daughter, Sandra Kistner of Waterloo; three grandchildren: Mandy, Brandy and Scott; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Dale, Ray, Charles, and Harold; and three sisters: Wanda, Aleen, and Shirley.
