Biography--

William G. "Bill" Johnson, 84 of Waterloo, Iowa, died at his home Friday, October 7, 2016, of natural causes.

He was born February 5, 1932, in Springville, Iowa, son of William C. and Mary V. Ralston Johnson and graduated in 1950 from McKinley High School, Cedar Rapids. He served in the United States Army receiving an Honorable Discharge.

Bill married Donna C. DeLancey at St. Paul's Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids on May 19, 1951. He worked at New Era Industries, Cedar Rapids; H&H Machine Tool Co., Cedar Falls; and then was co-owner of Master Tool and Mfg. Co., Cedar Rapids. He retired in 1984. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Club.

Survivors include his wife, Donna; daughters, Karen (Craig) Jensen, Waterloo and Kristi (Don) Jones, Littleton, Colorado; son, Keith (Denise), Oracle, Arizona; seven grandchildren: Jill (Robert) Mejia, Joel (April Mouton) Jensen, Jake (Chris Harder) Jensen, Chad (Katherine) Jones, Meg (John) Fink, William Jones, and Matt Johnson; five great-grandchildren: Robert and Charles Mejia, Jack and Emmie Fink, and Delancey Jones; and a brother: Richard, Marion.

Preceded in death by his sister Patricia Johnson Arenas.

He and Donna enjoyed traveling, living in Arizona and Arkansas and then moving back to Waterloo in 2011. He loved golfing and biking, sports and stats and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Bill was a good neighbor; loyal friend; and a great loving Husband, Dad, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa.
