Biography--

Doris Lorene Moore, 88, of Windhaven of the Western Home Communities in Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died at UnityPoint Health—Allen Hospital on Friday, November 11, 2016, of natural causes.

She was born on April 4, 1928 in Abilene, Kansas, daughter of Frank and Alice McCosh Correll. She graduated from high school in Chapman, Kansas, in 1946 and then attended McPherson College. Doris married Maurice W. Moore on August 6, 1950 in Buckeye, Kansas. She taught one year at a Dickinson County rural school then farmed with her husband for over 60 years in Orange Township.

She was a member of South Waterloo Church of the Brethren. She was a member of the 15-30 Club, Four Seasons, and the Book Club. Doris enjoyed homemaking, music, friends and family gatherings and events. She had a strong faith and was always concerned about others.

Doris is survived by her husband, Maurice of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Barbara (Kenneth) Drewes of Des Moines and Kathryn Miller of Murray, Kentucky; three sons: Rodney (Glenda) Moore of Lincoln, Nebraska, David (Rhonda) Moore of McPherson, Kansas and Donald (Marilyn) Moore of Waterloo; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alice “Nadene” (Keith) Lauer of Abilene, Kansas and Marilyn (Martin) Helmer of Tescott, Kansas; and a brother, Dale (Eleanor) Correll of Abilene, Kansas.

She is preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law, Craig Miller.
