Biography--

Kenneth R. Flickinger, 95, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Friday, November 18, 2016 at the Martin Health Center of Western Home Communities in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Kenneth was born May 17, 1921, in rural Black Hawk County, Iowa, the son of Hallie and Clara Ingamells Flickinger and graduated from Orange High School in 1940.

He married Arlene Turner on December 12, 1943, in Waterloo and together they farmed for 41 years until retiring in 1981.

He had been a member of the Hudson Lions Club and the Hudson Co-op. Kenneth volunteered as a 4-H leader while his boys were growing up. He was an avid baseball and softball player and continued to watch the Cubs. He enjoyed fishing and going golfing.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Arlene; three sons: Tony (Cindy) of Belvidere, Illinois, Steven (Ellen) of Cedar Falls, and Jerry (Sue) of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Luva Verry of Fullerton, California.

He is preceded in death by his parents; step mother, Lydia Flickinger; a brother, T.E. Flickinger; infant twin brothers; and sisters, Bonnie Kelly and Ann McCready.
