Biography--

Ardith Marie Johnson, age 87, of Reinbeck and formerly of Waterloo, died on March 1, 2017 at Grundy County Memorial Hospital.

She was born on August 11, 1929 in Waterloo; the daughter of Harry and Esther (Biever) Wildes.

She graduated from Waterloo East High School. Ardith retired from Freeman’s restaurant.

Ardith married Kenneth J. Johnson on December 20, 1946 in Mason City; he preceded her in death on April 13, 1969.

She is survived by two sons, Jim (Jane) Johnson of Elk Run Heights and Mike Johnson of Elk Run Heights; three grandchildren, Brad (Marissa) Johnson, Lindsay (Brent) Buehler, Joe (Jennifer) Harken; five great-grandchildren, Kennady Johnson, Adley Johnson, Jace Harken, Josie Harken, and Milo Buehler; and a brother, Max (Jennifer) Wildes.

Ardith was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Allan AJ Johnson; a brother, Harry Wildes, Jr.; and a sister, Velma Sauer.
