John M. Entz

Biography--

John M. Entz, 93, of Waterloo died at Friendship Village on Monday, May 30, 2016 of natural causes.

John was born April 14, 1923 in Waterloo the son of J. Edward Sr. and Leone O'Dowd Entz. He married Dorrene Tack on July 24, 1948 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waterloo.

John graduated from Orange High School 1941 and attended Upper Iowa University. He farmed for 40 years and sold for Pioneer Seed for 25 years.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church then St. Edward Catholic Church, Investment Club, and No Name Club. He was also a 4-H Leader and on the Milk Board for 20 years as well as Orange School Board for three years.

John is survived by his wife Dorrene of Waterloo; son Eddie (Kathy) Entz of Waterloo; son Mike (Karen) Entz of Cedar Falls; daughter Kathy (Mark) Ross of Marshalltown; and son Dr. Richard Entz of Traverse City, Michigan. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Matthew Entz, Jennifer Delagardelle, Blake Faris, Alex Entz, J.J. Ross, Sara Ross High, Tyler Perkette, Abbie Entz, Emily Entz, and Isaac Entz; and seven great-grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by a grandson Bobby Ross; a brother, Joseph Entz Jr.; and by sisters: Julia Boysen, Peggy Brindley and Jeanette Brasch.
