Marjorie E. Beaton

April 11, 1920 - May 19, 2016

Marjorie E. Beaton, 96, of Waterloo, died Thursday, May 19 at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born April 11, 1920 in Waterloo, daughter of George and Ellen Eaton Francis. She married Jack A. Beaton August 14, 1940 in Waterloo. He died May 3, 2006.

Marjorie was a homemaker and so much more.

Survived by a son, Michael (Carole) of Cedar Rapids; two daughters Linda (Charles “Ted”) Hora of Boone and Kathleen (Dennis) Hamer of Dike; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; four brothers: George, Albert, John and Amos Francis; and two sisters, Doris Spears and Florence Robinson.

Services will be Monday, May 23, at Unity Presbyterian Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Public Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, and for an hour before services, at the church, on Monday.

Memorials may be directed to Unity Presbyterian Church or the Waterloo House of Hope.
