Biography-

Tina Marie Sawyer, 52 of Waterloo, Iowa, died at her home on Wednesday, March 03, 2016, of natural causes.

She was born on April 21, 1963, in Waterloo, Iowa daughter of Vern and Beverly Ann (Schuler) Sawyer. Tina was raised by Don and Myrtle Gillette. She worked in Food Service and Custodial Maintenance for the Waterloo Community Schools for several years. Tina married Mike Thies. They later divorced.

She was a member of the Countryside Vineyard Church, Evansdale.

She is survived by her daughter, Lindsey Roberts, and Ashley Sawyer, both of Waterloo; a son, Bryan Sawyer, of Waterloo, Iowa; three granddaughters: Joy Sawyer, Olivia Roberts‑Bertch and Aubrey Ortner; two brothers, Dallas Sawyer and Howard Sawyer, both of Independence; and a sister, Norma Sim of Waterloo, Iowa.

Tina is preceded in death by her parents; and by Don and Myrtle Gillett -- who raised her.
