Arthur “Art” Dignin (1928-2016)

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - Arthur “Art” Dignin, 87, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, March 31, 2016, at his home.

He was born October 6, 1928, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, son of Arthur and Genevieve (DesJardin) Dignin. He married Thelma Wergin on June 29, 1963 in Milwaukee.

He served in the United States Navy and re-enlisted in the Marine Corps. He was employed as a shop foreman with Imprex in Milwaukee.

Art is survived by his wife Thelma; two daughters, Lorelei (Don) Williams of Cedar Falls, and Gayle (Tom) Shortess of Appleton, WI; a son, Gary Wergin of Deland, FL; five grandchildren: Marisa, Matthew, JD, Andrea and Kathlyn; and by five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; one sister; and a great-granddaughter, Ava Lauren.

No services are being planned at this time. Richardson Funeral Service is assisting the family.
