Biography-

Mary Lillian Moser, 75, of Hudson, Iowa, died at Covenant Medical Center on Sunday, March 27, 2016.

She was born October 4, 1940 in Dodge Center, Minnesota, daughter of Norman and Charlotte “Lottie” Black Sunness.

Mary married Stanley Carl Moser of Hudson on June 4, 1967. They lived there many years where they farmed and raised livestock.

She attended nursing school in Rochester, Minnesota and worked for Hennepin County Hospital in St. Paul and then Schoitz Memorial Hospital and later Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. She retired from Covenant in 2007 after 39 years working mostly in the Emergency Room. Before and after retiring, Mary was very involved with the Iowa Nurses Association (INA) as president twice, and held various committees and board positions as delegate with the American Nurses Association (ANA) and Visiting Nurses of Iowa, Waterloo.

Mary was involved in many activities with Bridge Clubs and was an active member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church serving on the board and helping with various functions. She loved visiting family and traveling to see her grandkids’ many sporting events. Mary enjoyed reading and playing various games on her iPad. She kept up with family and friends through Facebook.

She is survived by her husband Stanley of Hudson; son Timothy Moser of Hudson; daughter Christa (Steve) Welsh of Maple Grove, Minnesota; her three grandchildren (whom she loved very much): Jacob, Nicholas and Erica. She is also survived by her brother Robert (Evelyn) Sunness of Mendota Heights, Minnesota.

Mary was preceded by her parents and brother Norman Sunness.

Friday, April 1, 2016 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, One Thelma Court in Hudson
