Alan C. Edwards (1956-2016)

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – Alan C. Edwards, 59, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, Iowa, died Sunday, March 13, 2016, at his sister’s home in Cedar Falls.

He was born March 24, 1956, in Waterloo, son of Alexander and Elizabeth (Fitzgerald) Edwards. He married Dawn DuBois and they later divorced. He then married Lori Minikus and they later divorced.

He graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1974 and was employed with Doerfer Manufacturing, Reedy’s Auto Sales, Weissman Steel Supply, and Metro Transmission and Auto Repair.

He is survived by a son, Blake Minikus-Edwards of Waterloo; by two daughters, Stephanie (Phillip) Smith of Harrison, AR, and Lindsey Minikus-Edwards of Highlands Ranch, CO; by five grandchildren: Jake Box, Jared and Jayce Smith, Charisma Edwards, and Lilah Jones; by a great grandson on the way; twin brother, Jack Edwards of Cedar Falls; and two sisters, Carol (Lee) Minikus of Cedar Falls, and Jean (Wally) Frugé of Lake Charles, Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Alan Travis Edwards; and a brother, Kenneth Guy Edwards.

Services: Wednesday at Assembly of God Church in Elk Run, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Richardson Funeral Service, and also for one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. Richardson Funeral Service is assisting the family.
