Biography--
Mary Jean Hillman, 91, of Waterloo, formerly of Jesup, died at UnityPoint Health ‑ Allen Hospital on Thursday, February 25, 2016.
She was born on October 26, 1924 in Nashua, Iowa, daughter of Joseph and Hazel H. (Jenness) Schultz.
She attended Nashua schools for eight years. Mary married Filbert Marsh on March 12, 1946, in Waterloo; he preceded her in death on February 24, 1992.
She married Earl Levern Hillman on August 13, 1994 in Jesup; he preceded her in death Oct. 31, 2008.
Mary enjoyed playing cards, and she was a fan of Iowa Hawkeye sports.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Beverly (Charlie) Schneeman of La Porte City; her stepdaughter, Betty Lee Hillman of Mountain Ranch, Calif.; three grandchildren, Joe (Ursula) Neuenkirch and Leroy Neuenkirch, both of Jacksonville, Florida, and Carman (Jeff) Wirtz of Marysville, Ohio; eight great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; her brother, John (Maggie) Schultz of Charles City; and one sister: Lucille (Bill) Allen of California.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husbands; two brothers: Leroy and Darwood Schultz; and three sisters: Margaret Squires, Gladys Schultz, and Phyllis, in infancy.
