Died: Feb. 18, 2016

Memorial Mass: Monday, February 22 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Waterloo.

Visitation: Sunday, February 21 at Locke Funeral Home where there will be a 4:00 p.m. rosary and a 6:00 p.m. vigil service. Also one hour prior to services at the church.

Cemetery:
Inurnment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Biography--

Patricia A. “Patty” Jennings, 79, of Waterloo, Iowa, died at Buchanan County Health Center in Independence, Iowa on Thursday, February 18, 2016.

She was born March 1, 1936 in Waterloo, daughter of Berenice Dietz Patten and Wallace Dietz Sr.

Patty married James Morkel, Sr. on December 28, 1953; they later divorced. She married John Leonard "Jack" Jennings in August 1988.

She graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1952 and then worked at Family Management for many years. She later worked in Accounts Receivable at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, retiring in 2000. Patty was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waterloo and Catholic Daughters.

Patricia was a loving Mother who enjoyed baking Scotcheroos and cherry pie, spending time with family and friends, going to grandchildren’s wrestling meets, gardening, reading, and researching her family’s genealogy. Patty was a feisty woman with very strong opinions about politics.

Patty is survived by her husband Jack of Waterloo; five children: Debbie (Dave) Schmitz of La Porte City, James (Gina) Morkel, Jr. of Scottsdale, AZ, Rick (Sue) Morkel of Waterloo, David (Carol) Morkel of Independence and Michelle (Sean) Burke of Independence; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Wallace (Becky) Dietz, Jr. and Dennis (Barbara) Dietz, both of Waterloo; a sister Karen (Bill) Bergan of Ames; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents.
