WATERLOO — Richard H. Crinigan, 87, of Coolidge, Ariz., formerly of Cedar Rapids and Waterloo, died Sunday, Feb 7.

He was born Aug. 7, 1928, in Waterloo, son of Bernard and Linea Anderson Crinigan. He married Lila Strickland on Dec. 26, 1956, in Exira.

Richard was a graduate of Waterloo East High School, the University of Northern Iowa and Iowa State University. He retired from the U.S. Naval Reserve as a chief electronics technician. He worked in civilian life as an electrical engineer for various companies in the United States. He was a member of Martin Lodge AF&AM 624, Crescent Lodge AF&AM 25, Fleet Reserve Association and Noelridge Christian Church.

Richard is survived by his wife; three sons: Bernard of Coolidge, Thomas of Valley Village, Calif., and Michael of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; a daughter, Beth Minton of San Jose, Calif.; four grandchildren: Catherine and Richard Crinigan, both of Coolidge, and Alex and Linnea Minton of San Jose; and by a sister, Nancy Royer of Mount Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, John and William.

There will be no services.
