Services:
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Porte City, Iowa.

Cemetery:
St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Eagle Center, Black Hawk county, Iowa.

Biography--

Earlene Elizabeth Rosauer, age 98, of Dubuque and formerly of La Porte City, died Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Assisi Village in Dubuque.

She was born on August 29, 1917 in Grundy County, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Elizabeth (Quinn) Diamond. Earlene attended school in Reinbeck and Eagle Center. She taught in a one room rural school for 5 years before marrying Donald J. Rosauer on September 30, 1941 at St, Mary of Mt. Carmel Church in Eagle Center.

She and Donald had four children and made their living by farming in the Dysart and La Porte City areas. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage until Donald’s death in 2005. In 2010, Earlene moved from La Porte City to Dubuque to live near her daughter, most recently residing at Assisi Village in Dubuque.

Earlene will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and also for her extraordinary integrity, generosity, kindness and faith in God and the Catholic Church.

Survivors include a son, Mark (Rita) Rosauer of Le Claire, Iowa; two daughters, Janis (Tim) Cox of Blue Springs, Missouri, and Joan (Bob) Lentz of Dubuque, Iowa; and a daughter-in-law, Gail Rosauer of Fort Collins, Colorado; nine grandchildren and their spouses; two step grandchildren and their spouses; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Robert Rosauer, who died in September 2015; a sister, Evelyn Seery; a brother, Kenneth Diamond.

The family would like to thank the administrator and the community of Assisi Village for the loving care and friendship they extended to Earlene and her family.
