Biography--

Rose Marie Ratchford, 91, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, January 26, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born July 16, 1924 in Oelwein, daughter of Dominic and Mary Napoli Greco. She married Willard “Bill” Ratchford on November 29, 1947 in Oelwein. He died January 11, 1993.

Rose was employed with Rath Packing Company for several years and was a homemaker.

Survivors include four sons: Francis (Carol) of Waterloo, Timothy (Pam), and Ronald (Deb) both of Elk Run Heights and Joe (Paula) of Augusta, Kansas; a daughter, Mary (Doug) Thorne of Evansdale; 15 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren; a brother, Pete Greco of Maynard; and a special cousin, Carm Quirk of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Leo, John and Louie Greco; two sisters, Theresa Miner and Arlene Greco; and a great-granddaughter, Olivia Roling.

Services will be Saturday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation will be Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a Legion of Mary rosary. Visitation will continue at the church for one hour before services on Saturday.

Memorials may be directed to the Ravenwood Activity Department or Catholic Worker House.

Rose’s greatest treasure was her family. The loves of her life were her husband, Bill, and her dog, Pierre.

Saturday January 30, 2016, 10:30 a.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

Visitation:
Friday January 29, 2016, 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South St.

Rosary:
Friday January 29, 2016, 4:00 p.m. at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South St.
