William Walter Cage Jr.

March 12, 1949 - January 13, 2015

William Walter Cage Jr., 66, of Waterloo died Wednesday, January 13, at Manor Care Nursing and Rehab Center.

He was born March 12, 1949, in Waterloo, the son of William Sr. and Cleora Patterson Cage. He married Margaret Ray in Cedar Rapids and they later divorced.

William served in the United States Air Force and was employed as a chef at the Broom Factory in Cedar Falls until becoming disabled.

Survivors include: two daughters, Nikia (Quincy) Clark of Cedar Rapids and Velencia Ray of Minneapolis, Minn; nine grandchildren; three brothers: Bobby, Larry (Julia) Tillman, and Monroe (Carmen) Tillman all of Waterloo; five sisters: Claudette Myles, Carolyn (Mitchell) Berry, Viola (Joe Smith) Cage, Brenda Mills, and Caroline Tillman all of Waterloo; a special aunt, Jessie Lee Patterson-Rogers of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Edward Tillman.

Memorial Service: Wednesday, January 20, at Union Missionary Baptist Church. Full military rites will be conducted by the Waterloo Amvets Post 19 and Evansdale Amvets Post 31, assisted by the Air Force Honor Guard. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street is assisting the family.
