Rosemarie de Ruiter, 85, of Waterloo, died Thursday, January 14 at her home.

She was born December 17, 1930 in Berlin, Germany, daughter of Wolfgang and Gertrud Nietsch Kober. She married Jan de Ruiter November 22, 1958 in Waterloo.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Michael de Ruiter of Bellingham, Wash.; a daughter, Angela Shambaugh of Berlin, Vt.; four grandchildren and two sisters and a brother, all residing in Germany.

A Celebration of life service will be held in the spring.

Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service West Ridgeway is assisting the family.
