Sharon D. Gilbert, 80, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Monday, January 11, 2016, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.
Sharon was born December 31, 1935, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Albert Homer & Beulah Maude (Hett) Eriksen. She married Orrin “Gil” Gilbert October 15, 1955, in Cedar Falls.
He preceded her in death December 31, 2013.
Sharon worked as a waitress for many years and then was a baker at the University of Northern Iowa from 1970 to 2001.
Survivors include her son, Jerome Kent (Christina) Gilbert, of Le Grand, Iowa; two grandchildren, Amanda Gilbert-Heyl and Sarah Gilbert; three great-grandchildren, Lilly George, William George VII, and Jalen Rene George; her brother, Erik (Jolene) Eriksen, of Pleasant Hill, Iowa and her sister, Carol Vaughn, of Denver, Colorado.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2016, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-6:00 pm Thursday and one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
