Charles Eugene Heasley

September 25, 1940 - January 8, 2016

Charles Heasley was born September 25, 1940 in Hartley, Iowa: the son of Arnold and Vera (Mangels) Heasley. He was united in marriage, 56 years ago, to Gladys Anne McLeland on February 27, 1960 in Waverly, Iowa.

He drove dump truck for Bud Wilkinson and later worked driving truck for Maranatha Trucking, retiring in 1998. Charles enjoyed going to breakfast with his buddies, NASCAR, football and loved the Steelers. He loved attending his grandkids sports events.

Charles passed away at his home on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the age of 75, from cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother Jerry Branstetter and a brother-in-law Bill Lehnert. Charles is survived by his wife Gladys of Waterloo; two sons: Timothy (Rochelle) Heasley and Jeff Heasley (Lori McCoy) both of Waterloo; two daughters: Lisa (Keith) Ciesielski of Independence and Michele Randall of Waterloo; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a brother Steven (Jan) Heasley of Waterloo and a sister Gayla Lehnert of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Charles will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
