Dorothy "Dot" Sheerer

February 12, 1923 - December 22, 2015

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Dorothy A. “Dot” Sheerer, 92, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth E. Martin Health Center.

She was born February 12, 1923, in Webster City, Iowa, daughter of Earl and Myrtle (Short) Crosby. She married Harold “Babe” Sheerer on March 27, 1942, in Bethany, Missouri. He preceded her in death.

She worked as a Teller with the Cedar Falls Trust and Savings Bank for 33 years, prior to retiring.

She is survived by a son, Terry (Dee) Sheerer of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Chari Sheerer of Madison, WI, and Cindi (Tom) Maddock of Snohomish, WA; three grandchildren: Damon (Rachel) Camarata, Lindsey (Jeremy) Kieffer, and Lucas (Emily) Sheerer; three great-grandchildren: Liam, Nora and Ella; a niece, Sandra (Dean) Snodgrass; and a nephew, R. James (Nancy) Sheerer.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Services: 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2016 at First United Methodist Church with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2015 at the church. Richardson Funeral Service in Cedar Falls 266-3525.
