Biography--

Marjorie Ellen Rausch, died on December 16, 2015 born on March 24, 1922, to Tom and Anna Elliott. She lived in La Porte City and Cedar Falls, Iowa with her husband, Burdette Rausch, until his death on January 10, 2003 and is survived by her daughters, Barbara Bausch and husband, Leon from Rockport, Maine, and Kristi Fraser with her daughter, Katie and family living in the Dallas area and son, Randy Rausch living in Lisbon, Iowa with his wife, Becky. Marge passed away at the age of 93, being the last of nine brothers and sisters to leave this world.

When we discuss the things she loved and the talents she shared RED comes to mind. Red dancing shoes used to line her closet with things red playing a part all around her place today. We remember those beautiful wedding cakes that were baked and decorated for many years. Her poems were treasured pieces we all enjoyed, authoring a book about all of our dogs and their personalities.

The Christmas peanut brittle, fudge, and chocolate covered toffee presented us all a festive bite of wonderful tasting candy along with the popcorn balls and caramel corn. The golf course played a great part of her way of living and Mom loved learning to drive that ball straight away. Her masterful making of great tasting onion rings at Burdette’s Drive-In in Cedar Falls gave us tasty eating for 10 years. And we must not forget POLITICS. She loved expressing her political views to all.

Mom would love nothing better than for us to celebrate her leaving this life with a pizza party, upbeat music playing and the sound of laughter all around. Such an event will be planned at a later date.
