CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - June I. Dunn, 85, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, December 18, 2015 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.

She was born June 22, 1930 in Buchanan County, Iowa, the daughter of Merle and Nellie (Sankey) Averill. She married Jay J. Dunn on July 18, 1950 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waterloo.

She graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School and was employed as a cashier with Hy-Vee at College Square for over 23 years, retiring in 1994.

She is survived by three daughters: Nancy (Jim) Holt of Richardson, Texas, Linda (Alan) Jones of Cedar Falls, and Mary (Gregg Lotz) Dunn of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren: James (Jodi) Ogle, Holli (Bill) Neil, Patrick (Jennifer ) Jones, Katie (Keith) Fleshner, Steven (Kahla) Dutcher, and Jacob (Elizabeth) Dutcher; twelve great-grandchildren; a brother, Raymond (Rita) Averill of Cedar Falls; three sisters: Beulah LaPole of Cedar Falls, Darleen Buehner of Cedar Falls; and LaVonne Turner of Cedar Falls; and two sisters-in-law, Ruth Dunn of Granbury, Texas, and Fannie Mae Lindquist of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

June was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Charles Averill.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waterloo. Visitation from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Richardson Funeral Service where there will be a 3 p.m. Rosary. Visitation also for one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
