Myrtle C. Leyen (1928-2015)

WATERLOO, IOWA - Myrtle C. Leyen, 87, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Parkview Manor in Reinbeck.

She was born March 13, 1928 in Brandon, Iowa, daughter of Fred and Agnes (Sauer) Wilson. She married Flores S. Leyen on April 4, 1947. He died August 21, 1977.

She was a homemaker throughout her adult life.

Survived by four sons: Larry Leyen of Reinbeck, Cliff (Kathleen) Leyen of Waterloo, Gary (Nancy) Leyen of Dysart, and Kevin (Carla) Leyen of Reinbeck; 12 grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Blanche Haberstich of Waterloo and Anna Vincent of Waverly; two brothers, Benjamin (Polly) Wilson of Shell Rock and Charles Wilson of Tampa, FL.

Preceded in death by one sister, Jenny Carpenter; and five brothers: Raymond, Fred, Guy, Eddie and Robert Wilson.

Services: Monday at Prairie Lakes Church – Waterloo Campus with burial in Garden of Memories, Waterloo. Visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Richardson Funeral Service, and also for one hour prior to the service Monday.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
