Floyd H. Burroughs (1922-2015)

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – Floyd H. Burroughs, 93, of Cedar Falls died Friday, December 04, 2015, at Windsor Specialty Care.

He was born January 23, 1922 in Waterloo, son of George and Kitty (Foster) Burroughs. He married Dorothy Zipse on June 9, 1946 in Waterloo and she preceded him in death in 1995. He then married Bea Vogt on October 14, 1999, in St. Cloud, Minnesota, and she preceded him in death.

He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was employed as a tool and die maker with Hawkeye Steel and John Deere. In retirement he owned and operated AAA Professional Carpet Cleaning and was an Amsoil salesman for many years. In his younger years, Floyd enjoyed ballroom dancing and gardening.

He is survived by two sons, Lance Burroughs of Cedar Falls and David (Debbie) Burroughs, also of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Dianne (Don) Doering of Waterloo; five grandchildren: Shawn Doering, Michelle (Jeff) Mapes, Sherry (Dallas) Sands, Branden (Kerrie) Burroughs and Austin Burroughs.

Preceded in death by a brother, Foster Burroughs; and a daughter-in-law, Penny Burroughs.

Memorial Services are being planned for May. Richardson Funeral Service is assisting the family.
