Biography--
Evansdale, Iowa – Duane “Jode” Fauser, 82, of Evansdale, died Friday at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born June 3, 1933 in Fayette County, Iowa, the son of Arthur and Hazel Ware Fauser. He married Donna Webb on October 7, 1955 and were later divorced. He married Maureen Dolan Loftus on March 19, 1997, in Waterloo.
Duane worked at Rath Packing for 33 years until its closing; he then worked for Walmart as a greeter for 17 years.
He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force.
Survived by his wife; five sons: Mike (Becky) Fauser of Fairbank, Duane “Wayne II” (Peg) Fauser of Des Moines, Doug (Charlotte) Fauser of Indianapolis, Ind., Stephen Loftus of Waterloo and Chris (Ivory) Loftus of Buffalo, Minn.; four daughters, Terri (John) Kauten and Brenda Lee, both of Indianapolis, Ind., Audrey (Dale) Steffen of Dunkerton and Lori Beckner of Evansdale; 30 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a brother, Grover Fauser of Waterloo; two sisters, Arlene Robinson and Jean Smith both of Oelwein.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Ernie, Max and Arthur Fauser; and by two sisters, Marge Simpson and Patsy McClain.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8 at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway with burial in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Oelwein. Full military rites will be conducted by the Hudson Amvets Post 82. Public visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and continue for one hour before the service. Memorials: to the family. Jode had many interest that consisted of gardening, fishing, the Chicago Bears, Iowa Hawkeyes, and St. Patrick’s Day. His greatest love was enjoying the love of his family.
