Obituary for Joan G. Tange

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Joan G. Tange, 97, of Cedar Falls died Sunday, November 29, 2015, at NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls.

She was born November 28, 1918 in Baldwin, Wisconsin, daughter of Herman and Hattie (Eernisse) Wissink. She married Rev. Irving N. Tange on June 5, 1947 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He died January 1985.

She graduated from the Swedish Hospital School of Nursing in 1940. She worked as a registered nurse at the Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis and then at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.

She is survived by two sons, Paul (Judy) Tange of Riceville, and Phil (Susan) Tange of Aitkin, Minnesota; four grandchildren: Pauline Luna, Julie (Ryan Cox) Tange, Erik (Liz) Tange, and Allison (Scott) Rian; nine great-grandchildren: Daniel Bodtke, Slade and Autumn Luna, Alexander Hendrickson, Emily, William and Whitney Tange, Faythe and Grace Rian; one great-great-grandchild; and special family friends, Winston and May Persaud of Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Wissink.

Memorial services are Saturday, December 12th at NewAldaya Lifescapes Chapel with visitation for one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery prior to the service. Richardson Funeral Service is assisting the family.

Memorials may be directed to the family for designation at a later date.
